Releasing online Nov 16th: Burn Rubber x New Balance 577 “Joe Louis”

Last week Burn Rubber dropped a teaser announcing a New balance collab showing an instrument case engraved “New Balance for Burn Rubber. The instrument case had us stumped thinking that these were going to be a tribute to one of Detroits many musical legends, come to find out these are a Joe Louis tribute. Growing up Joe Louis had to conceal his love and pursuit of boxing, so to hide it from his mother he would stash his boxing gloves in a instrument case. For their latest collab they took a different approach when designing this 577 keeping the sneakers upper all leather with 2/3rds of the sneaker in black contrasted by white and brown. For a Joe Louis themed sneaker keeping this color-scheme and its materials classic was key. Take a look at the gallery below for a better look at the sneaker.
