Shaqnosis: Releasing July 17th

It has been 18 years since the Shaqnosis was originally released and Reebok has finally decided to bring back the silhouette to follow after the recent re-release of the 1992 Reebok Shaq-Attack’s. 1995 was not just the year that the Shaqnosis silhouette was released, but it was also the year Shaquille O’neal and the Orlando Magic went up against defending champions Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets in the 1995 NBA finals. This was one of the most hyped match ups of its time everyone wanted to see these two giant centers play against each other. The Rockets swept the Magic 4-0 and went on to be the 1995 NBA champions. Even though the Magic did not win the Shaqnosis still made a huge impact on the basketball foot-wear world. And now the Shaqnosis will continue to be one of the greatest basketball silhouette’s released by Reebok, with the re-release of the Shaqnosis about a month away hitting retailers July 17th.

The Shaqnosis sneaker was something out of this world the upper was plain black and white with a reebok pump build to it, but without the actual pumps on the tongue and a few other features. The name stems from the hypnotizing black swirls that make up the upper of the Shaqnosis. The Original Shaq logo’s can bee seen on the back heel of the Shaqnosis and above the toe box right before the laces start. The Shaqnosis silhouette also was one of the first sneakers to feature Reeboks Hexalite technology.

With All the sneaker’s Nike has brought back and with the Ewing Athletics company getting things cracking again it seems like Reebok was inspired to re-release many of their classic basketball sneakers. The Shaqnosis was also a sneaker that was hard to find many years after its release in 1995. Its easier to find a pair of OG Jordan 10’s that were limited to certain city’s making them even more exclusive than too find a pair of the OG Reebok Shaqnosis, which released the same year.
