The 13th annual Doernbecher Freestyle auction will take place in Portland, Oregon on October 28th, 2016.This year Jordan picked Damien Philips to design this years Air Jordan 7 Doernbecher .  The Shoe was inspired by his love for playing the guitar. The colorway for these Doernbecher dressed in a Black and Red color scheme. The shoe is completed with special graphic outsoles. The outsoles read “SUPER” and “EXPLOSIVE” with a cartoon version of Damien playing the guitar.

Damien had this to say about his design:

“MY PRIMARY INSPIRATIONS FOR THE SHOE WERE A GUITAR AND CHICAGO’S BASKETBALL TEAM. I HAD AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE DOING SOMETHING I’VE NEVER DONE BEFORE. IT SURPRISED ME THAT I GOT SUCH AN AMAZING TEAM AND HAD SO MANY OPTIONS FOR A SHOE. MY FAVORITE PART OF THE SHOE-MAKING PROCESS WAS CHOOSING THE MATERIAL. IT POSITIVELY IMPACTED MY LIFE THROUGH MEETING NEW PEOPLE AND GETTING ME OUT IN THE WORLD.”
