“Wait, wait, wait… Freehand, I thought you said you don’t use a shoe twice. Haven’t you already made a Nike SB x Diamond Supply mask?” – you say. That is, if you’ve been paying attention.

And you’d be right. My 83rd sneaker mask was a gas mask made from the fondly nicknamed “Tiffany” Dunk Highs (2014 release). When a repeat and valued collector asked if I’d transform his Tiff Lows (2005 release), I knew we were discussing a technicality, a bend or loophole through the creative rules I set for myself and my body of work. I gave it some thought and agreed to it with the stipulation that the Lows would be  a mask, but not a gas mask. Splitting hairs? Well, you can see for yourself how similar pairs can be sculpted in entirely different ways. – Freehand Profit

The Tiff Low Skull mask features a hinging jaw and is made from a single pair of Nike SB Dunk Lows. It was commissioned by and created for @Herbert_Huckabee of @Restalk_Org, in other words it’s already sold. (You can find out how to commission your own sneaker mask here.)

And let’s not forget that DesignerCon is this weekend! Freehand Profit & Betsy VanDeusen will be in person at Booth 511 with a pop up gallery of their work (including unreleased sneaker masks) as well as some new, rare and exclusive art pieces for sale. See you in Pasadena!
